The Hunt Roblox 2009 Chaos Canyon - The Hunt Roblox 20 Wiki
A sixty-second twister opens the portal, then four arena knockouts decide whether the year completes.
Overview
Chaos Canyon is the 2009 year and the stage where the event stops being gentle. A tornado survival test in the hub opens the portal, and the featured experience then asks for four knockouts against other players in a small, close-quarters arena that leaves very little room to hide.
2009 Full Run
This run starts with the tornado dodge in the 2009 hub and finishes with the four knockouts inside Chaos Canyon. It is worth watching the twister section once, because the safe route and the timing are easier to copy from footage than from any written description of the map.
The 2009 Requirements
The year has two objectives, and only the knockout count really gates the badge, but finishing both keeps your badge progress clean. Check the badge location map if the counter behaves oddly, because kills do not track until the HUD counter appears.
| Objective | Requirement | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Hub challenge | Survive the tornado for 60 seconds | 2009 hub |
| Main challenge | Score 4 knockouts | Chaos Canyon |
| KO counter | Watch the top-left of the screen | In-match HUD |
| Reward claim | Rejoin the hub and use the platform | 2009 area |
| Next year | Use the box beside the reward platform | 2010 area |
Surviving the Tornado
The tornado is slower than it looks and it turns predictably, so circling the outer edge of the map keeps you safe for the full minute. Do not hide inside the house, because the twister passes straight through the walls and will still catch you while you are standing indoors.
If the year is still locked at this point, the 2008 Rocket Arena walkthrough explains which counters have to be finished and claimed in the hub before the 2009 area finally opens its portal and lets you begin this stage at all.
Talk to the hub NPC
Find the quest NPC in the 2009 hub and start the conversation, which spawns the tornado and begins the sixty-second survival timer.
Circle the map edge
Keep moving around the outside of the map and stay on the opposite side of the tornado, because the house offers no protection at all.
Return to the NPC
Speak to the NPC again once the timer ends to confirm the survival objective, then step into the portal to reach Chaos Canyon.
Get four knockouts
Use the slingshot to chip health and the sword to finish, or take the rocket launcher if you would rather fight entirely at range.
Chaos Canyon Combat Tips
Chaos Canyon gives you five tools, and the most reliable combination is the slingshot into the sword: soften a target from range, then close in for the final hit. The rocket launcher works too if you can land direct hits, and the wall is best used for blocking rather than damage.
Dying does not erase knockouts you have already banked, so play aggressively instead of retreating. If the counter in the top-left corner is missing, leave the portal and re-enter, because kills will not register until it appears on screen in the corner of the HUD.
Slingshot Then Sword
Chip a player's health from range with the slingshot, then switch to the sword for the finishing blow up close.
Or Fight at Range
The rocket launcher handles knockouts on its own if you prefer to keep your distance from the respawn portal.
Trade Kills With a Friend
The same player can be knocked out more than once, so a friend in the same server finishes the objective very quickly.
Confirm the Counter
If the knockout counter is not visible in the top-left corner, exit the portal and re-enter before you start fighting.
Common Mistakes in 2009
The tornado half is easy once you know the trick, and the combat half is mostly about patience with the counter. Our claim guide covers the reward steps in detail if the platform still refuses to appear after your fourth knockout.
Read these four points before you start, because two of them are the reason players report a broken or unfinished 2009 year when there is nothing actually wrong with their event save file or their in-match knockout counter at all.
- Hiding in the house — The tornado passes through the building, so treating it as shelter is the fastest way to fail the sixty-second survival objective.
- Trying to block the tornado — Nothing can damage or stop the twister, so the only real strategy is distance and steady movement around the map.
- Leaving before the counter updates — Give the knockout counter a second to register the fourth elimination before you exit Chaos Canyon.
- Skipping the rejoin — The reward platform often appears only after a fresh session, so rejoin the hub before deciding the year is bugged.
Claiming the Crest of the Canyon
Leave Chaos Canyon through the Roblox menu and return to the 2009 hub, then leave the experience entirely and rejoin. The reward platform behind the NPC frequently appears only after that fresh session, which is why so many players assume their knockout progress was lost.
Interact with the platform to claim the Crest of the Canyon, and remember that the reward always comes from the hub rather than from the arena. Our UGC items page lists the full reward set if you want to plan the rest of the run.
From here, use the box beside the reward platform to reach the 2010 Work at a Pizza Place year, which is the longest story quest in the whole event. Our game order guide covers everything that follows it in the timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many knockouts do you need in Chaos Canyon?
Four. The counter appears in the top-left corner during a match, and the same player can be knocked out repeatedly, so a cooperative friend makes it very fast.
How long do you have to survive the tornado?
Sixty seconds. Talk to the 2009 hub NPC to start it, then keep moving around the edge of the map until the timer runs out and the portal opens.
Can the house protect you from the tornado?
No. The tornado passes straight through the building, so standing inside is no safer than standing in the open, and it usually ends the attempt quickly.
Does dying reset your knockout progress?
No. Knockouts already credited stay on the counter after death, so you can play aggressively without worrying about losing the eliminations you have banked.
Why is my kill counter not showing up?
The counter sometimes fails to load on the first entry. Exit the portal and re-enter Chaos Canyon, because kills will not be tracked until the counter appears.
Why is the reward platform missing?
Leave the event entirely and rejoin the hub. The Crest of the Canyon platform commonly appears only after a fresh session loads your completed progress.
Where do I claim the Crest of the Canyon?
From the platform behind the quest NPC in the 2009 hub area, after the four knockouts register. Chaos Canyon itself never hands over the UGC item.
