Rescuing Three Animals
Pick up one animal as early as you safely can, then play the rest of the round defensively. The event only cares that you are holding the animal when the disaster ends, so surviving matters far more than exploring or fighting once the pickup is yours.

Talk to the NPC in the 2011 hub to start the sequence, then keep moving away from the red impact markers and use roofs for cover.
Enter Natural Disaster Survival
Once all thirty meteors have landed, the portal opens. Enter it with the anniversary objective active so the event animals spawn for you.
Pick up an animal
Scan elevated terrain during the round, because animals spawn on and near high ground, and claim one before another player reaches it first.
Survive the round with it
Hold the animal until the disaster ends. Avoid risky climbs, open water and crowded areas, since a death voids the rescue completely.
Deliver it to the pen
After the round, carry the animal to the pen with the event sign in the lobby and place it inside, then repeat until three rescues register.
Survival Tips
Natural Disaster Survival punishes greed more than bad luck, and the rescue objective does not change that. Choose smaller maps and concentrate on a single animal per round instead of trying to bank several rescues during one dangerous disaster sequence.

Once the third rescue registers, return to the event hub and collect The Disaster Forecaster from the 2011 podium. The accessory is always claimed in the hub, so finishing the game objective alone will not put it in your inventory.
