Overview

The 2007 stage sends players into Sword Fights on the Heights IV, the classic height-map brawler, and it is the first year that combines a hub-side puzzle with an in-game collection task. Five hidden buttons open the portal, and four different sword pickups then finish the badge.

Year:2007
Game:Sword Fights on the Heights IV
Objective:5 buttons + 4 swords
Reward:Duel of the Heights
Difficulty:Easy

2007 Full Run

This run follows the button sweep from the caged NPC all the way to the disappearing bridge, then heads through the portal for the sword pickups. Watching it once makes the parkour section far less confusing, and the 2006 Crossroads prerequisite is covered separately if the year is still locked.

The 2007 Requirements

Both halves of this year are tracked separately, and it only completes when the hub button counter and the sword counter have both finished. Keep our full badge list open if either number looks stuck, because a half-finished 2007 is one of the most common progression problems in the event.

The fifth button sits beyond a disappearing bridge. A fall sends you back to the start of the crossing, so cross it without stopping to fight anyone on the way.

Pressing the Five Hub Buttons

The buttons are spread across the hub island and the order does not matter, so clear the easy four before attempting the bridge crossing. If you would rather finish an earlier year first, the 2006 Crossroads walkthrough explains how the timeline unlocks one year at a time.

Players who only press four buttons often assume the quest is broken, because nothing on screen says which switch is missing. Revisit the caged NPC, the brown mountain and the blue building behind the quest giver before you blame the portal.

1

Start at the caged NPC

One button sits directly in front of the caged NPC, and a second waits at the entrance of the red-roof house close by.

2

Climb the brown mountain

Scale the brown mountain beside the red-roof house and press the switch waiting on its summit.

3

Search behind the quest giver

Follow the path behind the quest NPC into the blue building, where the fourth button is hidden inside.

4

Cross the disappearing bridge

Take the vanishing platforms to the platform right of the red building for the final button, then speak to the NPC again.

5

Enter the portal

With the hub counter at five, the Sword Fights portal opens behind the NPC and the second half of the year begins.

Press every button before entering the game. Bouncing between the hub and the arena is the slowest possible way to finish this year.

Sword Hunting Tips

You spawn inside the arena already holding one blade, so the counter only needs three more pickups. Death drops a sword from your inventory but the event keeps the credit, which makes this stage far more forgiving than the arena years that follow it.

Keep moving between platforms instead of camping one spawn, and the four sword pickups usually take under ten minutes even on a busy server where other players hunt the same blades. If a spawn is contested, plan your next arena visit with the 2008 Rocket Arena walkthrough and come back for a lap.

Four Different Blades

The counter needs four different swords, so picking up the same weapon twice will not add any progress to the year.

Keep Rotating

Swords spawn across several platforms, and moving between them beats waiting for one contested pickup to respawn.

Do Not Fear Death

The event keeps sword credit after you die, so losing a weapon costs you a walk back rather than any quest progress.

Stay in the Server

Leaving the experience can reset the sword counter, so finish all four credited pickups before you exit the match.

There is no knockout or win requirement here. Ignore fights that do not lead to a sword pickup and the year finishes much faster.

Common Mistakes in 2007

Most failed attempts come from treating this like a combat year rather than a collection year. If the badge still will not appear after the counters fill, our claim guide explains the difference between finishing the in-game task and actually collecting the reward.

Read these four points before you enter the portal, because two of them quietly reset progress you have already earned and force a second full run through the same arena, which is where most of the lost time in this year comes from.

  • Entering with four buttons — The portal may open visually before the counter reaches five, but the year will not complete without every switch pressed.
  • Leaving the arena mid-run — Exiting the experience can wipe the sword counter, so collect all four credited pickups in a single session if you can.
  • Reusing the same sword — Only different blades count, so grabbing a duplicate spawn adds nothing and wastes a trip across the map.
  • Chasing knockout fights — No win condition is attached to this year, and every unnecessary fight is time spent away from the sword routes.

Claiming the Duel of the Heights

The reward platform sits beside the leaderboards in the event hub. Interact with it after both counters are complete, because the arena itself never hands over the item, and check our UGC items page if you want the full reward list for every year.

Duel of the Heights counts as one of the twenty main year badges, so claiming it also moves your account one step closer to the Year Infinity unlock that appears once the full historical timeline has been completed and every reward has been collected.

The next stop is the 2008 Rocket Arena year, where ten painted eggs and five knockouts take over the format. Our game order guide maps out every year that follows this one, right through to the 2025 Grow a Garden finale.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How many buttons are hidden in the 2007 hub?

Five. One sits by the caged NPC, one at the red-roof house entrance, one on the brown mountain, one inside the blue building and one beyond the disappearing bridge.

How many swords do you need to collect?

Four different swords. You spawn holding one, so three more credited pickups complete the counter, and duplicates of the same blade do not count.

Does dying reset the sword progress?

No. Death removes the weapon from your inventory, but the event counter keeps every sword already credited, so you only lose the walk back to a spawn.

Do you need to win a fight in the 2007 stage?

No win condition is part of this year. The objective is five hub buttons and four sword pickups, so knockout fights are optional and usually a waste of time.

Why is the 2007 year still locked?

The timeline unlocks chronologically, so the 2006 Crossroads year has to be completed and claimed in the hub before the 2007 portal becomes active.

Where do I claim Duel of the Heights?

On the reward platform beside the leaderboards in the event hub. The Sword Fights experience itself never gives you the UGC item directly.

Is there a code for the 2007 reward?

No. The event has no promo codes, and any site offering a generator for Duel of the Heights is a scam that cannot deliver the item.
